Let’s kick things off by working on the simple web page you created in the previous tutorial. Practice becomes perfect.
If you didn’t create the page before, I’ve added the code below again for your reference:
<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title> My webpage </title> </head> <body> </body> </html>
You’ll see that the page consists of the important elements every page should have which include <html>,<head>, <title> and <body>.
If you saved this to your computer as is and attempted to open it up you would notice a blank page pops up. There is no actual content to display.
So let’s add a heading and a paragraph.
<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <title> My webpage </title> </head> <body> <h1> HTML is Fun! </h1> <p> Easy too. I am getting the hang of this. </p> </body> </html>
Now you should be seeing something like this:
Adding the above code produced a heading and paragraph of text.
I cover these tags more in the tutorials to follow so don’t worry too much about them right now.
This was just a simple example to show you that creating a web page is quite simple.
Continue with the tutorials which follow and you’ll be amazed at the things you can do.
